Robert usually celebrates his July 29th birthday on our summer vacation, this year was no different! He has celebrated in some of the coolest places!!
My dad got him a piece of chocolate cake on the ferry and was able to smuggle it past him as his official birthday cake. My dad always brings balloons for me to blow up and decorate with, so we decorated the Kodiak Cavern and put his gifts out when he wandered to the lodge.
Robert wanted to go first thing to the SeaLife Adventure that another otter camper had recommended. After our chocolate chip waffle breakfast, off we went!
Robert has always loved the zoo and aquariums. It was bittersweet watching him still so excited to see and touch everything in the exhibits. We learned a lot about the local fish and animals in the coastal waters. It reminded me, yet again, why I am not a fan of swimming in the ocean! Everything is alive!
Next up was a Zipline Canopy Adventure. Grandpa bowed out of this one and that left me (coolest mom ever :) to join Robert on this adventure! I had never ziplined and was pretty nervous about the heights and speed zooming through the trees, but it was amazing! We ziplined, rapelled, and went across several suspension bridges. He loved it and so did I!!
In between SeaLife adventure and the Zipline, the kid rode his one-wheel all over town, got tacos from a great food truck for lunch and finished the day with pizza from Seward Brewing Company for dinner.
Nevermind the parking ticket and dragging plastic from below the engine, it was a great day 😀 !!
Can't believe my baby is 17, how did that even happen?! 😉
