After 25 days, 9200 miles (over 2600 of those the ALCAN), 8 US states, 4 Canadian Provinces, 16 hotels/cabins (several we stayed in multiple days/times), 525 gallons of gas (ranging from 3.66 to 6.39 gallon- about $2700 total), and millions of memories we are finally home!
Pulled in about midnight and jumped right back into life today. In fact, I am writing this from the hockey rink parking lot while Robert practices inside with his Midget team!
My oldest daughter, Allison, who lives with us, did a great job taking care of things at home and I appreciate that more than I can say! It is challenging to get away with a small farm with horses, cows, and lawn/garden to tend to for 25 days!! I did get her and Nathan souvenirs, but I wanted to give her an extra shout out- heck, she even sold Erick's boat while we were gone! (I think her favorite souvenir was the block of cheese from the Wisconsin Mousehouse!)
Nathan was surprised when he woke up to Lola and Uncle Robert back. Allison left him home from daycare and didn't tell him we were going to be back so soon and it was really cute to see his surprise, shyness, and then happiness when he put it all together that we were home ❤️
Thanks for following along on our journey- if anyone has any questions or wants extra info email or message me. And if anyone has any ideas on how I could do this for a living, I would love to hear it- I am all ears!
