Fishercap Mornings

staceyschramm

I have mentioned before, and I will say it again, I love staying at the Swiftcurrent Cabins in the Many Glacier area of Glacier National Park. There are 95 rustic cabins and motel rooms with little to no wifi or cell service buried deep in what I consider the prettiest area of the park. The most amazing hiking trails are just outside the door along with great lakes to recreate on.

Fishercap Lake is .7 of a mile from the cabins and we go back and forth to that lake 2-3x a day hoping for a moose sighting. The moose like to eat the vegetation on the bottom of the lake and are frequently found there. Especially in the early morning and later evening.

Since we are on EST, we are up earlier than most and walk out to the lake every morning.

I take my coffee and bear spray along with whoever will join me or by myself if need be.

I got my dad to walk out one morning and we discovered a waterfall we had never seen before off the horse trail between the Iceberg Lake Trail and the Fishercap trail. Fun to discover new things in areas that we've been to many times, especially with my dad.

Our final morning at Glacier I got Robert to walk to Fishercap with me and we got an awesome early morning reflection picture. He was a bit grumpy to start because it was early, but came around.

Fleeting moments with him for sure.....really with both of them ❤️
